I really enjoyed the orchestra. The sound was full and clear, and it was better than I even expected, almost like... just really good overall

I’ve really enjoyed the repertoire they choose. Compared to some companies I’ve looked at, where it can feel like the same few classics over and over, this one usually has a solid mix of the big familiar operas and a few less obvious picks. It makes the season feel more interesting, and I usually don’t have trouble finding something I’d actually want to go see.

I went to a show recently the set looked great. The lighting was really well done too, it made the whole thing feel more polished. A couple of the scene changes dragged a bit, but the production design was strong enough that I still had a good night. Anyway.

I went to the Houston Grand Opera the seats were a nice surprise. The cushion felt decent, and I had enough leg room to be comfortable, though it was not super roomy or anything, actually, it was totally fine for the night.

After a couple hours I did catch myself shifting around a bit, but it really was not a big deal. The view from my spot was good too, so overall I had a good experience. I’d give it 4 stars.

The show itself was really good, but the timing was a little confusing. The event times changed, and I almost missed it because I didn’t realize the schedule had been updated. If you’re planning to go, I’d definitely recommend checking the times again closer to the event so you don’t get caught off guard. I just wish the scheduling had been a bit clearer

I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The singers were incredibly clear, and the orchestra was solid the entire night. I’m not really an opera person, but I was hooked the whole time. Everything felt polished and definitely worth the ticket. My only regret is that I waited this long to go.

A couple sounded kind of thin and got swallowed up by the music, which made the whole performance feel less powerful than I expected live. Maybe it was just an off night, but considering the ticket price, I walked out feeling let down...

Parking ended up being the first pleasant surprise of the night. I found a spot quickly, and once I saw how easy it was to get in, it took a lot of the usual stress out of arriving. Definitely helped the night start off on the right foot.

The ticket prices felt unfair to me. I expected them to be high, but this just seemed over the top for what we got. I also reached out afterward hoping someone would explain the pricing or at least acknowledge my concern, but there was no follow-up at all, which made the whole experience even more frustrating.
